A Gushy, Mushy Post About Mindset

A Gushy, Mushy Post About Mindset

So much of success is mindset.šŸ†

You hear it all of the timeā€¦šŸ‘‚

And maybe you believe it, or maybe you donā€™t.šŸ¤·

I used to be ā€œwhateverā€ about mindsetā€¦šŸ˜Œ

But after coaching hundreds of people over the past few yearsā€¦

I see it again-and-again ā€“ mindset is the difference between those who thrive and those who do not.

Imposter syndromeā€¦

Self-sabotageā€¦

Fear of rejectionā€¦

Feeling like youā€™re bothering people if you ask for helpā€¦

It all comes down to mindsetā€¦

And the feeling or belief of not being good enough.

Theyā€™re all manifestations of the same thingā€¦

Not being ā€œenough.ā€

And weā€™ve usually carried these feelings with us for years.

Thereā€™s a reason the best shrinks spend a lot of time talking about our childhoodā€¦

These feelings are so often linked to traumatic or scarring moments from our past.

Some of them are obvious, and we can point to them right awayā€¦

Others are buried deeperā€¦

Weā€™ve blocked them out, yet they remain lurking below the surface.

So how do you fix this?

How do you shift your mindset?

There are a million answers: books, courses, coaches, mentors, therapists ā€“ you name it.

Thereā€™s no right answerā€¦

But I will tell you this:

Probably the most impactful way to level up the mindset that Iā€™ve found thus farā€¦

Is to be surrounded by people who believe in you.

Itā€™s so simple, but it can carry you so far.

So as a coach and a mentor to peopleā€¦

Sometimes, the most effective thing I can do for them is to tell them a simple truth:

That I believe in them with every fiber in my being.

I love them.

So many ā€œgurusā€ and ā€œleadersā€ donā€™t really want to talk about this stuff.

Or if they talk about it, itā€™s on some surface level, but their actions donā€™t back it up.

For me, I really try to back it up.

I want my tombstone to say: ā€œhe cared moreā€ or something to that effectā€¦

And last night while we were at dinnerā€¦

ā€‹ā€‹I told my wife Laura that I want to start scheduling some ā€œmindset daysā€ with peopleā€¦

Where I book a spaceā€¦

Whether itā€™s in Vegas or somewhere elseā€¦

And thereā€™s an open invitation to anyone who wants to come.

Then, for several hoursā€¦

All we do is work on mindset.

No pitches, upsells, or ulterior agendasā€¦

Literally, just me trying to spend as much time as I can with each attendee, telling them that I believe in them and that I love themā€¦

And weā€™ll also find a way to bring in some outside experts on mindset tooā€¦

Plus we'll structure it in a way where people get the biggest impact possible.

Kind of weird? Maybe.

Kind of awesome? I think so.

Because if/when I doā€¦

Everyone is invited to come.

P.S. You know whatā€™s fun about this post? I know a lot of people will love it. But I bet itā€™ll lead to a bunch of ā€œunfollowsā€ too. People who read my content for the tactical stuff. They just want to make more money, bro. They donā€™t need to hear about mindset.

It sucks knowing this is true, but itā€™s fun because at least those people are self-selecting. If youā€™re not open to at least considering that mindset may be very underrated, then I donā€™t really want you to be a part of my tribe. Nothing personal, though.

P.P.S. On the flip side, if youā€™re someone who is truly committed to making their life better, then Iā€™m so glad youā€™re with me.

ā€‹ā€‹I donā€™t care if youā€™re homeless or rich. I donā€™t care if youā€™re a man or a woman. I donā€™t care if youā€™re skinny or fat. I donā€™t care what country you are from, or the color of your skin, or your sexual orientation, or anything else.

ā€‹ā€‹I couldnā€™t care less.

ā€‹ā€‹The fact that you are committed to achieving great things in your life is inspiring as hell. I love you. And I really do believe in you.
