Good morning! 😊
I have to keep this one quick because I woke up late (6:30 am)…
Spent an hour or so reading newspapers…📰
And now it's almost 8 am, and I need to get up my daughter in a second.
So, since I don’t have time to really expound about something…
How about instead, I just give you something that hopefully contains a lot of value.
What is it?
It’s my 7-Step Checklist for Writing Killer Headlines. ✅
This is what I go over in my RMBC Course…
And I figured, hell, why not just give it to you as well.
Consider it a “Sneak Peek” Part II.
So here it is…👇
Headline Elements Checklist:
- Call Out Pain Point
- Promise Solution
- Credibility/Address Skepticism
- Time Frame to Achieve Results of Promise
Not every headline is going to have all of these…
But the best headlines tend to have several of them.
So, let me give you an example…
Let’s look at the famous John Carlton headline about the one-legged golfer.
Here’s the headline…
Want to slash strokes from your game almost overnight?
Amazing Secret Discovered By One-Legged Golfer Adds 50 Yards to Your Drives, Eliminates Hooks and Slices… And Can Slash Up To 10 Strokes From Your Game Almost Overnight!
Now you can learn to use your natural ability to “load” every drive with 200% more explosive power almost overnight, getting distance you could only dream of before… while nailing shot after shot, exactly where you want it, as accurate as clockwork. And, if you’re like most golfers, knocking a pile of strokes off our next round! Impossible? Not if you believe what lifelong professionals and hot new amateurs worldwide are now saying…
Okay, so how does this headline measure up to our checklist?
Check it out:
2. Call Out Pain Point
Hooks and slices
3. Promise Solution
Adds 50 Yards To Your Drives, Eliminates Hooks and Slices, Slash Up To 10 Strokes From Your Game. Load every drive with 200% more explosive power. Nailing shot-after-shot exactly where you want it, as accurate as clockwork. Knocking a pile of strokes off your next round.
50 yards, slash up to 10 strokes, 200% more explosive power
If a one-legged golfer can do it, so can you.
6. Credibility/Address Skepticism?
Impossible? Not if you believe what lifelong professionals and hot new amateurs worldwide are now saying.
7. Time Frame To Achieve Results Promised?
Now, of course, I explain this in more-depth inside my RMBC Course…
And I also go through 10+ more examples…
But still figured sharing the checklist and this example would be useful to you.
It can help you think of the way you write headlines, too…
Because once they’re written – you can compare them to this checklist…
And see how many of the elements on the list are contained in what you just wrote.
Okay, that’s it for today.
Gonna go get Eden.
Not sure how long we'll stay in Vegas, but tired of being in a “lockdown” at an AirBNB in San Diego…
And ready to be back at my own house for a little bit.
I hope you have a great day. 🙂
