For copywriters, here’s the simplest way to get high paying gigs:

The simplest “client acquisition” method in the worldReach out to your previous clients and ask them how the copy you wrote for them is performing.

I know, that sounds underwhelming…

But it’s amazing how often that leads to “oh, by the way, do you have any availability?”

It literally happened to me a few weeks ago.

I reached out to someone who I wrote a few letters for about 6 months ago.

We hadn’t talked since then, and I was curious how the letters were going.

He wrote me back and said he’s only had time to test one letter so far…

And that it’s done okay, but he thinks it could benefit from a different lead.

Then he said, “By the way do you have availability to write any new letters?”

I replied, let him know that I always offer to do some alternative leads since this is a common thing where your first version is “pretty good,” but then you dial in the lead and get a version that’s a home run…

The simplest “client acquisition” method in the worldAnd then he was like, “Okay, great. Now seriously can I hire you for this other project?”

I’m not 100% sure if I’ll take on that project or not, since I’ve already got a lot going on…

But it did remind me of how powerful it can be to simply follow up with past clients.

We see this in Copy Accelerator all the time, actually…

We’ve generated something like 400 new copy gigs for our members…

And our most savvy members will go through the list of clients and then reach out to folks who posted a job to our members 6 months ago or even a year ago.

Why?

Well, if they needed copywriters back then, there’s a reasonable chance they might also need copywriters right now.

Time-and-time-again writers end up landing 4 and 5 figure gigs just by reaching out…

And it’s something you can do too, but simply messaging previous clients and seeing what’s up.
